Performance of Yajna is beneficial to all mankind according to the seers and mystics. Modern science also by research and studies found out that the Yajna which is performed properly using the bodily, mental and phonetic faculties is beneficial not only to the human beings and the living organisms around but will bring about a positive change in the atmosphere. Nature provided us in abundance. With the performance of Yajna, we are reciprocating and propitiating the Natural Forces.
The intonation ‘Idam Na Mama’ ( this is not mine) with which the oblations are offered into the sacred fire leads one to gradually surrender his ‘I’ ness or the ego to the Supreme Self which the offerings of ghee and other dravyas symbolize.
At Jillellamudi which is sanctified by Amma’s presence, several Yagas were performed over the years. After the construction of a beautiful permanent Yagasala during 2002, Nitya (daily) Homams are performed. Frequently Visesha Homams like Chandi Homam, Sudarsana Homam, Rudra Homam, Srisukta Homam are performed. From 2005 Sankatahara Ganapati Homam is being performed every month on Bahula Chavithi each month and from 2006 Maha Soura Homam is being performed on a Sunday every month.
The uniquiness at Jillellamudi is that any one irrespective of caste, creed gender or religion may personally participate in the Yajnas. Devout and learned Ritviks guide the performers in the performance of the Homams.
