It is the Glory of the Celestial Serpent which found a safe haven in Amma’s presence and lived as Her House Hold for years. Great radiance used to engulf the thatched quarters of Nannagaru abetting the huge peepal tree. Amma used to distribute the earth around the Divine Snake pit as prasadam to the devotees. An inexplicable, sweet fragrance used to emanate from it which lasted for months, nay years.
Amma lived in these precincts for over 25 years as a body of fire, as it were with her pure divine effulgence, imparting an exceptional spiritual significance to the place. Even today, those who sit in meditation at the place can feel the extraordinary vibrations. True to Amma’s prophecy, the place Amma lived is slowly turning out to be a real Tapovanam where varied Sadhanas or Upasanas are performed with Amma as the presiding Deity.
Amma, true to her prowess, was svadheena vallabha (Svadheena= in control of oneself, Vallabha= Consort) with complete control to what ever the name Nageswara or Nagendra imply or signify from the very moment She decided get into wed lock with Nanna garu. In her child hood many a serpent were her companions always obedient to her wishes. Amma instructed a couple of devotees to do Nagapratishta at the very place to get rid of their troubles. An intense tapascharya (penance) must have preceded for the Nine hooded Nageswara sakshatkara (Darshan of Lord Nageswara) in 2005. It may be deserving consecration to the great Anantha (endless) which made Nannagaru’s quarters as its abode.
