Mother is always concerned about the health of HER children. To ensure that the health of HER children is taken care, SHE had established a hospital in Jillellamudi on 5th May 1978 and named Matrusri Medical Centre (MMC).
Since then the hospital has been rendering basic support functions for routine fever, cold, diarrhoea etc., Any complicated patients are rushed to the nearest town – Bapatla (13kms) or Guntur (57kms) in the Ambulance available in the hospital.
In the year 1982, x-ray lab was inaugurated by AMMA. The lab was donated by a USA devotee — Mr Richard Schiffmann.
Every month the hospital conducts medical camp on the second Sunday. MMC have adopted Kondabhotlavaripalem – a tiny village near Bapatla. The team from MMC will reach the village on second Sunday every month and ensures basic check up and distributes medicine.
The villagers are provided with the expert advice of a specialist every month. In addition, any critical case is referred to specialists in Guntur for better care. For any severe/critical cases, they are referred to Hyderbad through the network of SVJP.
MMC also conducts medical camps during natural calamities in the surrounding villages of Jillellamudi. The camps take care of emergency medical care, diagnosis and prescribes appropriate medicines/next steps. Various chapters of SVJP situated in different parts of India organize medical camps to meet the needs of the under privileged.
