AMMA is embodiment of knowledge and wisdom. SHE always wanted the knowledge be given to children, especially those who can’t afford it.
SHE conceived and established Matrusri Vidya Parishat(MVP) in the year 1971 to ensure education to the poor and downtrodden. SHE started Matrusri Oriental College to give education in Oriental Languages. In the year 1974, SHE started a school and named it Matrusri Oriental School. The school renders education from 8th Class. Since then SVJP had been running the school and college successfully.
The students are mostly from poor families with agriculture background. Matrusri Vidya Parishat has been educating poor students since 1994 for the classes starting from 8th Class to B.A., The degree is given in Telugu and Sanskrit. The education is given to both girls and boys. There are separate hostels and the hostels are taken care by respective wardens. The lecturers stay on the campus and students have access to them beyond working hours.
There are many feathers in the cap of MVP – viz., Gold Medals, Phds., The old students are now working as Principal/Head of Department, Professors etc., in various colleges/universities across the telugu states of India. Students are also given training on reciting Vedic scripts etc., to have real time practice and experience and to enhance their knowledge levels and soft skills.
